Re: challenging student teacher

I've had student teachers before and their practicum
supervisors have always let me know beforehand that, at the
first sign of trouble, inform them. Although it has never
happened with any of my student teachers, I've known it to
happen with other teachers. The practicum supervisors and the
universities have always been good about mediating between
mentor teachers and students teachers. It sounds to me like
there is some confusion around roles and expectations. This
will need some clarification. I've also known, in a few
situations, universities to move students out of one placement
and into another if the mediation doesn't work.
