Hi Rob,
The SMART Board in my room is the thing I miss most about my past
school! The possibilities are endless, it was on every minute of
every day and used fully by the students for everything. Once I got
started, it just went from there. Since it is the kids hands that act
as the mouse, virutally any games site will work with the board. My
class used to enjoy using Spelling City, Primary Games, and Game Goo.
Also when we were learning about time, they enjoyed Stop the Clock.
Durign Daily 5 they enjoyed using the fridge magnets for making words
activities too.
At the end of the eyar, my grade six reading buddies created SMART
Board lessosn for their reading buddy to work through and they were a
huge success! The grade 6's kids taught us a few things we didn't
know you could do using Notebook software.
Once Notebook 10 came along, one of my rewards was that they could use
SMART Recorder, draw whatever they liked on the board, record it as
they went, and then play it back for the rest of the class to see.
That was a big hit!
I just took a quick look at the web site mentioned but my guess is, if
it was being displayed in Notebook, you could move what was on the
screen. I looked at the Days of the week one.
If you can borrow a set od "clickers" it is great to use them to
review for tests and especially handy prior to EQAO.
Good luck! I keep hoping I will get one for my current classroom!
