Greater Essex has no expectations for kinders for DRA - they use
DIBELS and Marie Clay for assesments. If some children are ready
the SK teachers will use the DRA for them. November DRA for grade
1 is 4, Feb is 8 and End of grade 1 is 12. When I see DRA 16 for
grade one I am shocked...why are we all so different? Grade 3's are
a 28 for November.....most are beyond that though although most
can't retell the story...our comprehension guideline is 10 (which I
don't agree with)so they get are able to get by....

I think there is some information in the Ontario kinder curriculum
for reading levels - I think is said DRA 4.....

Slynn...who wants to put her pencil in her eye if she has to
hear "Old Ben Bailey" DRA level 40 AGAIN!! (What an inappropriate
book by the way...refers to getting a "whipping!)
