Re: teacher moderation: Assessment/Eval Problematic

Teachers teaching the same way for the past 25 years exists because some
teachers refuse to think that things have changed in 25 years. Some take the
unfortunate and incorrect view that when they are asked to changed, it means
that they have been doing things wrong. Some also feel that they have put so
much work into their program that they don't want to evolve it. It's made
worse when large groups of these teachers work at the same school!
I await the arguments, but teachers should be encouraged, when possible, to
work at different schools in order to be exposed to different styles and
improve our teaching (or share our success with other schools). There are
benefits to having to evaluate our program when we go to a new school and deal
with new teachers and students.
